These 2 girls are 18 yr and 15 yr old sisters they are the oldest of 7 children. No father in the home...mother has no job. Both girls are pregnant...the oldest one already has a 2 yr old. They are standing in one of the two rooms of their "house". There was no food in the house the day I was there. I asked the girls if there was anything they needed, they asked for food. We brought them one months supply of rice, beans, flour and sugar. I also made sure that all the children in the house got a new pair of shoes. Wish I could have done so much more.
Shoes, shoes, and more shoes....we had 2 days of a shoe drive. I can't tell you what it meant to those children to get a new pair of shoes and clean socks!!!!
Giving much needed medical care to the children...treated many colds, tonsilitis, fever, diarrhea, worms, jaundice. Once they found out there was a nurse on the team I kept pretty busy.
